Inclusive Fitness Training Workshop May 15-16, 2019 in Missoula

The Montana Disability and Health Program (MTDH) in partnership with the University of Montana Rural Institute on Inclusive Communities and the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability will be holding an Inclusive Fitness Training Workshop May 15-16, 2019 in Missoula. This workshop is a great opportunity to learn about inclusivity, exercise recommendations, adaptations, and much more.

Some workshop participants have met or will meet the requirements to take the ACSM exam to become a “Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer” (CIFT). In prior workshops, MTDH developed the ‘Inclusive Fitness Champion’ program where we would support people to become CIFTs (i.e., pay for their exam fees) in exchange for a ‘champion’ activity in their community.  We will try to set up an exam opportunity in the afternoon of the second day to follow the workshop.

The Montana Disability and Health Program can support up to ten people to travel to the workshop in Missoula—if you need support in order to attend this workshop, please contact me. Once you have registered for the conference, you will receive an email about the room block and the finalized agenda.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks!
